If you didn’t feel like sitting through that 2 hour conference without even a peek at the new system, allow me to give you a quick summary of what PlayStation gamers are looking forward to. So what’s this new system boasting about?

Weeeelll, quite a few things … 7 years after the release of the PS3, finally we get a new console with an 8 core processor, 8 GB of memory, and a redesigned dual shock controller.

Now here are the selling points, cloud gaming, the fastest gaming network in the world, that allows the gamer to start playing demo games immediately from the server, without no longer having to wait for it to download and then install it, to test it out before they actually decide to buy it. The 8 core processor combined with internal disk drive, will actually start a game as soon as you press the start button. The share button on the redesigned Dual Shock PS4 controller will mean, we as gamers, can broadcast “100% real time to your friends” “Your friends will be able to look over your shoulder and interact with you virtually” while you play. But your friends will be able to help you too! They’ll be able to help you out with medicines and repairing injuries incurred in-game. Imagine that, long gone are the days where you had to buy a strategy guide or have a friend come over to help you get past a mission. No longer will you have to save a whole match just to have to edit it later and then post on FB. You will have the ability to interact tablets and smartphones with this new console with a possible addition of even using the PS Vita as a controller.

The games on this system look phenomenal but one would never doubt the capability being that you are running an 8 core system with 8GB of memory, the graphics are sickly intense, we saw demos of Drive Club, Killzone Shadowfall, Watch Dogs, & Diablo 3. The future of instant gaming and sharing our awesome victories on the battlefield will be a part of this new gaming console that we are excited to see unveiled in June at the ES3 show. Until then, happy gaming fellas and fellow gaming gals!
