Vidaview: Marisa's Misadventures - The One that got away

fishingloveblogFebruary 22, 2012, 9:01am CST (The One that got away) Most women secretly have that inner regret about "The One That Got Away".  You kick yourself in the butt for having had the chance at something wonderful and letting it slip through your fingers. Yet, I have to ask, was it really that wonderful? What made him so great? I ran into my guy that got away recently and realized ehhh... I'm better off. Sexy, yes he was but wonderful not so much.

I believe in Karma whole heartedly, so if we lost him because WE cheated, then we got what we deserved. If we lost him because HE cheated, then the loss was his. Now, if you lost him because, you both were on different pages at that time, that situation there is just life. Those are the cards we're dealt and the choices that we make. You live and you learn.

Just know that you should never hold anyone on a pedestal like that. If he got away... he got away, keep fishing. It's not fair to any new loves in your life to be unaware that you are secretly comparing size or success or just what could have been. The Doctor, the Lawyer and even the Indian Chief... who cares, let them go. You may miss a chance at the new Mr. Right Now because you're distracted thinking about Mr. Was Right.

Love yourself for who you are now, not what you imagine you could have been next to "The One That Got Away". That confidence that you will exude from the pride of your own accomplishments will attract many more Mr. Rights. Happy Dating.

Thanks for following Marisa's Misadventures.

I've been having some of these "moments" recently...this is just what I needed to read. Especially "Love yourself for who you are now, not what you imagine you could have been next to "The One That Got Away". That confidence that you will exude from the pride of your own accomplishments will attract many more Mr. Rights."
