Good morning to all of those that are heading out to work this fine day and to those lucky ones that have the day off. Here is your weekly chisme to start your work week off right or to close out your three day weekend. Here we go!
Whitney’s Final Good-bye
This weekend, the world tuned in to watch Whitney Houston’s Homegoing celebration. The funeral service for Houston was live streamed for fans, while the burial was a private ceremony. The celebrities invited include: Oprah Winfrey, Kevin Costner, Stevie Wonder, R.Kelly and Alicia Keyes. Whitney Houston’s ex-husband Bobby Brown was also in attendance, after some dispute with family members who didn’t want him to be present. He showed up, but left shortly afterwards, apparently making a scene due to issues with his “seating arrangement”. He received an invite for himself and one other person, he shows up with nine people and is surprised they are not ready to accommodate him. Really, Bobby? They didn’t even really want you there and you still show up and make a scene? Way to make it about yourself. There’s a reason people don’t like Bobby Brown. But that aside, Whitney’s funeral was a very beautiful service, with thousands of people watching around the world. May she rest in peace.
Reunited and It Feels So Good
Rumors are swirling that Kim Kardashian is going back to her old flame, Reggie Bush. You may remember Reggie Bush as the last serious relationship Kim had before her marriage to Kris Humphries. He even made a few appearances in Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Kim and her family’s reality show. It appeared that these two were heading to the altar; unfortunately, it seemed that Reggie couldn’t handle the media attention that comes along with dating Kim. Well now, it seems that these two may be willing to give it a second try, or a third, if you want to get technical. Kim and Reggie were seen laughing and smiling during a lunch date in Beverly Hills this week. It seems these two have been spending time together ever since Kim’s split. Reggie Bush denied any chance of reconciliation, but he’s never been one to be open about his public life, so I would take his word with a grain of salt. We’ll just have to see if Reggie and Kim can try to make it work again. I find her a little bit more likeable when she’s with him, as it’s obvious she has real feelings for him, but we’ll have to wait and see if he is willing to let the paparazzi back in his life once more.
Playboy Domestic Dispute
Hugh Hefner’s son Marston was arrested for assaulting his girlfriend, Playmate of the Year Claire Sinclair. Cops were called to their residence after one of Claire’s relatives called them, claiming Marston had attacked her. Police saw bruises and other injuries on Claire’s body. She claims he punched her, kicked her in the stomach and kept her in the house against her will. Marston was arrested and released on $20,000 bail. Hugh Hefner later released a statement in which he stated he was disappointed in his son and was sure the pair would “patch things up”. Doesn’t sound like he’s really disappointed in his son to me. I’m sure the fact that he owns the company she works for doesn’t help this girl’s situation. Hopefully she’s able to walk away from this seemingly unhealthy relationship.
Chris & Rihanna Pt. Deux?
Rumors of a reconciliation between Chris Brown and Rihanna have swirled ever since the infamous incident in which Brown was arrested for physically attacking Rihanna back in 2009. Lately however, it seems that there may be some truth to these rumors. Not only does the pair follow each other on Twitter and have sent what seem to be subliminal tweets to each other, but Chris Brown recently made an appearance at Rihanna’s birthday party last week. Now they may have also collaborated on a song together. The buzz is that Chris may be making an appearance on Rihanna’s Birthday Cake remix, which has some fans happy, while others are outraged. Many people are still not ready to forgive Chris Brown for what he did to Rihanna, but it seems she may have. What do you think? Is it time for everyone to move on, since she seems to have, or is what he did unforgiveable?
Kobe…Not Single Yet
Speaking of reconciliations, there’s another one in the works. Kobe Bryant and his estranged wife Vanessa were seen kissing at a recent Lakers game. Shortly after Vanessa filed for divorce from Bryant, rumor was that Kobe was hard at work trying to win her back and it seems that his efforts have paid off. The couple had reached a settlement agreement and is still not living together, but it seems they are giving it another go. Kobe has apparently bought Vanessa an expensive piece of jewelry and has sworn to never be unfaithful again. Sound familiar? Let’s see if it works this time. Think of your children, Kobe and keep it in your pants.
Gossip Tidbits
It seems Lindsey Lohan may be turning her life around. She is reportedly doing well on her probation and is set to receive a glowing report on her next court visit. She is also slated to host Saturday Night Live on March 3rd. She is looking to rehabilitate her image, and pulling off a great performance on SNL may just do the trick.
 Congratulations go out to Eugenio Derbez from CBS’ show Rob, who recently got engaged to singer/actress Alessandra Rosaldo. Eugenio proposed from the top of a horse, which seems a little cheesy for the comedian, but hey, he’s her prince in shining armor, so it works! (See inserted photo)
Rapper Nas is having a little problem paying his taxes. He reportedly owes about $339,000 to the U.S. government. Given that he lost a lot of his money during his divorce from Kelis and the fact that he hasn’t really been making much noise in the industry lately, I don’t think he can just write a check for this amount and be done with it. Get with the program Nas; drop another album so you can pay your bills.
Speaking of rappers and money issues, DMX owes over $1 million dollars in back child support payments. The rapper is being sued by the mother of his child Patricia Trejo for money owed. DMX’s defense for not paying? He says he’s not sure that the child is really his, which seems like a poor defense, since he only started questioning the child once Trejo hit him for the child support. Where’s Maury when you need him?
Mariah Carey’s husband Nick Cannon has recently received bad news from his doctor. It seems that the host of America’s Got Talent has been diagnosed with blood clots in his lungs and was recommended by his doctor to slow down on his busy schedule. Just last month, he was hospitalized for kidney failure, so he’s really going to listen to his doctor’s orders and cut back on some radio hosting gigs. Here’s hoping he has a safe recovery. He’s got Mariah and the twins to stay healthy for.
Charlie Sheen is tired of playing nice. The actor recently shared his thoughts on Ashton Kutcher’s version of Two and a Half Men. “I’m tired of lying…I’m tired of pretending the show doesn’t suck…I’m tired of pretending Ashton doesn’t suck.” Pretty harsh words, but is he wrong? I for one, no longer watch Two and a Half Men, so I can’t vouch for it after Sheen’s departure, but according to ratings, he may be right. What do you think? Is Ashton doing a good job?
 Hottie of the Week
So I’ve made it no secret that I have a girl crush on Sofia Vergara. I love her. I think she’s beautiful and I love her character on Modern Family. I also think she has a great fashion sense and has made an amazing comeback in her career. It was about time that I gave Sofia the Hottie of the Week honor. She is very deserving of it. Not only is she a hilarious actress with a good personality, but she’s a total business woman. Sofia not only has a fashion line, but is now currently working on a jewelry line as well as a line of lingerie, targeted towards making the everyday woman feel sexy. Though we may not all look like Sofia in lingerie, we can at least wear something from her line to help up the sexy factor in our lives. For being sexy and beautiful while being business savvy at the same time, she gets our Hottie of the Week honor.
