The Ancient Americas - takes you on a journey through 13,000 years of human ingenuity and achievement in the western hemisphere, where hundreds of diverse societies thrived long before the arrival of Europeans. In this 19,000 square foot permanent exhibition you will live the epic story of the people of these continents, from the Arctic to the tip of South America. (Permanent Exhibit)
Journey through 4 billion years of life on earth in Evolving Planet, fall in love with ants in The Romance of Ants, see SUE the T. rex, climb down an ancient egyptian tomb in Inside Ancient Egypt, and so much more.
Special Exhibits:
Who was Genghis Khan – a ruthless warrior, or a revered statesman? Uncover the amazing story of one of the world’s greatest leaders and most misunderstood conquerors. Discover the essence of his extensive empire and the lasting influence of his legacy. Experience a world of conquest, diplomacy, innovation, and destruction. Decide for yourself who Genghis Khan was, only at The Field Museum. (February 24 - September 3, 2012)
Museum Hours of Operation: 9am - 5pm, no entry after 4pm
Museum General Admission Prices: Adults ($15), Seniors and Students ($12), Children 4 - 11 ($10); Discounts for Chicago residents. Children under 4 are free.
